Since we were founded in 1969, our goal has always been to provide for the growing needs of our owner, consulting engineer and installing contractor customers. We offer onsite training for a variety of educational opportunities from Air Conditioning courses taught by highly trained Engineers to Service Training taught by knowlegable Tampa Bay Trane technicians with strong HVAC backgrounds.

Service Training Courses

Trane is recognized as a leader in providing training resources for our customers and employees.  Tampa Bay Trane offers a comprehensive local training program and a dedicated training facility with a 25 seat capacity, given the current COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. Our classes are taught by our top service technicians and engineers who have had personal experience in the field, using the tools and skills we teach our students.

Voyager & Precendent Units January 12, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course covers the startup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on these popular Trane unitary products, along with a deeper understanding of the Microelectronics operation and troubleshooting. 
Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems January 14, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course will cover how Outdoor Air Systems are designed specifically to condition up to 100% of outdoor air year-round, reduce latent loads, and enhance the entire building system's comfort and energy efficiency. You will learn how to maintain positive pressures within a building, minimize cost, and much more.
Intellipak Rooftop Units January 19, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This class will cover startup procedures, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of our widely utilized product - Intellipak Rooftop Units. You will also be familiarized with the service and operation of water-cooled condenser self-contained/Intellipak unit, including temperature sensors and the HI control panel. 
Variable Frequency Drives January 21, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) are found in all parts of today's HVAC systems. This course will cover a review of the product lines, proper installation, required start-up procedures, field service diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques.
Variable Air Volume Systems January 26, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course will cover the fundamentals of the Variable Air Volume (VAV) approach to air conditioning. Topics include an explanation of VAV, components of a VAV system, terminal unit types and controllers, and more. 
TBT Tracer SC Operation Summary Course January 28, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course is designed to familiarize the student with only the basics of the Trane Tracer SC controller. Students will learn about all the newest Tracer SC controls options , but because this is only a three-hour course, the content of what will be covered is limited.

Trane Tracer Synchrony Operation Virtual February 2-3, 2021 from 9am to 5:30pm In the Tracer® Synchrony™ Operation course, students learn to operate and modify an installed Tracer SC+ system using the Synchrony interface. This highly interactive course includes presentations, demonstrations and hands-on workshops where students practice using the software applications integral to a Tracer SC+ building management system.
Chilled/Hot Water Pumping Systems (2 parts) February 9 & 11, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm There are 2 sessions for this course; Part 1 on Feb. 9, 2021, and Part 2 on Feb. 11, 2021, each class held from 6-9PM. This 2 day course will give insight into the basics of Pumping Systems used in Air Conditioning and Heating applications.
CGAM Chillers (2 parts) February 16 & 18, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This 2-day course will have presentations of the components, operation, and application of a scroll chiller in Trane products. It will have a strong focus on troubleshooting and real-life student situations discussions. Part 1 of this course is on Feb. 16, 2021, and Part 2 is on Feb. 18, 2021, both from 6-9 PM.
Helical Rotary Air Cooled Chillers (2 parts) February 23 & 25, 2021 from  6pm to 9pm This 2-day course is a presentation of the components, operation, & application of Helical-Rotary (Screw) compressor in Trane products. The class will have a strong focus on troubleshooting & discussions that are rooted in actual experience. Part 1 of this class is on Feb. 23, 2021, and Part 2 is on Feb. 25, 2021, both from 6-9PM. * These courses are pre-requisites for the Helical Rotary Water-Cooled Chiller course*

Trane Tracer Synchrony Advanced Operation  Virtual March 2-3, 2021 9am to 5:30pm & March 4, 2021 9am to 12:30pm 

Tracer Synchrony Operation (or Tracer SC Operation) is a pre-requisite and must be completed prior to registering for this class.

The Tracer Synchrony Advanced Operation course builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the Tracer Synchrony Operation course. This course will enable learners to expand their skill set to complete a variety of advanced operations, control strategies and energy saving methods to get the most value out of their Tracer Synchrony building control system.

Helical Rotary Water Cooled Chillers March 9, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course is a presentation of the components, operation, and application of Helical-Rotary (Screw) compressor in Trane products. The class will have a strong focus on troubleshooting and discussions that are rooted in actual experience. *The pre-requisite courses Helical Rotary Air-Cooled Chillers Part 1 & 2 are required for this course*
Water Treatment & Cooling Tower Fundamentals March 11, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course will be broken up into two sections. The first section of this course will cover Cooling Tower operation, components, features, materials, water conservation and more. The second section will focus on Water Treatment and will cover cycles of concentration, corrosion, Legionella, controlling tower drift and more.
CenTraVac Chillers (2 parts) March 16 & 18, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course provides an overview, as well as discussion, on centrifugal water chillers and chilled water systems and covers the area of troubleshooting for those systems. Part 1 is on March 16, 2021, and Part 2 is on March 18, 2021, from 6-9PM.
TBT Tracer Ensemble Summary Course March 23, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course is specifically designed for building operators and administrators to become more proficient with their Tracer Ensemble software. This is an operations-level class and students must have an understanding of personal computers and the Windows operating system.
Commercial Motors and Starters March 25, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course focuses on three phase motors found in commercial HVAC products. Topics covered are three phase motor theory, configuration of various motors, motor construction, application, as well as proper maintenance and service.
Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems March 31, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm This course will provide an introduction to Mitsubishi's Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems and its history, M&P Series vs. CityMulti units, the installation process, service essentials and much more.
